A little bit about me…

Introducing the Australian female-Arab Muslim meets My Big Fat Greek Wedding…

And now I’m married… With a BABY!

Constant characters in the madness of my life include my ever ULTRA intense mother: An amalgamation of Marie Barone (from Everybody Loves Raymond) & the Nanny’s mother but with a headscarf & (far more) anxiety… and naturally the (all) best of intentions.

My amazing husband: did i mention that he’s background actually IS half Greek, half Italian? Surely you don’t need me to mention how intense he can be?

Let my debacles, trials, thoughts, philosophies & madness provide you with comic relief

My Stats: Now in my early 30’s (OMG – where did the time go?); I originally started this blog in my mid to late 20’s!

I’m a professional & hard-working mum; juggling work and motherhood + all the other demands that my mum, in laws and whoever else want to thrust upon me.

I am  a mix of cultures; this indisputable clash and yet somehow harmonious combinations in cultures… allows my mum to live in her ‘lil fairytale-land (hey, she’s happy there I tell you!). I have an indisputable thirst for knowledge; both a professional, superficial & religious point of view. I love to talk religion – any religion…. I love to see the comparisons, the beauty in it all.

I’m not married – GASP!!! My mother’s greatest sadness is a lack of wedding to prepare and no grandchildren to speak of… My family fix me up with the strangest of men.  Well – i AM married now!!!! WITH a BABY!!!!

I DON’T look like that chick from My Big Fat Greek Wedding…Although I do have curly hair!

I do a GREAT Arabic accent (I’m around them often enough)

I am reflective… I have (strange/odd) notions & theories about life & “situations”, I think I’m patient

I love my family to bits…. Their insanity is curiously endearing (and gives me much fodder to blog about)… I am ever grateful for my friends.

I STILL yearn for normalcy… yet haven’t quite figured out what that is yet

I am a contradiction of sorts…

I have stories to tell… I have things to say…

I want to hear what you have to say

am me… I am happiness
